Attending ALBS events is the best way for students to meet practicing lawyers and firm recruiters.

Our Mission

The Allard Law & Business Society (“ALBS”) is a student organization at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia. We are dedicated to promoting the discussion of business law topics, while helping to establish Allard Law as a premier business law education destination.

The ALBS provides excellent networking opportunities to get to know lawyers and law firms through a variety of activities, inside & outside of the law school.

Specifically, the ALBS partners with over a dozen law firms each academic year to host networking events, social activities, and business law seminars for small groups of first year students from Allard Law. Our small-scale events are unparalleled in the first year calendar and provide unique opportunities to make meaningful connections between students and firms.

Every year, five 1L students (one per small group and the VP Marketing) are elected to represent the ALBS. Each elected 1L Representative gets the opportunity to liaise with three or four corporate law firms and organize events for their classmates to attend. Not only is this a fantastic way to meet lawyers and get to know some large Vancouver firms, it’s always a fun night out!
